1. Wajah CV.

Siapa yang tidak menyukai wajah cantik atau penampilan menarik? perumpamaan
itupun berlaku ketika anda membuat CV. Sekalipun anda pintar dan profesional,
perekrut tak akan tertarik membaca CV anda jika terlihat tidak menarik.
Karenanya, kertas dan huruf adalah hal yang perlu diperhatikan dengan seksama
untuk memastikan CV anda dibaca sampai selesai.

a. Kertas :

Jangan menggunakan kertas bergaris, berwarna atau yang desainnya meriah.Kesan
yang timbul dengan menggunakan kertas jenis ini adalah : tidak profesional dan
kuno.Sebaiknya gunakan kertas HVS putih polos dan ketik lamaran anda
menggunakan komputer. Jangan pernah mengirimkan fotokopi CV, karena anda
akan dianggap tidak menghargai perusahaan yang anda lamar. Biasakan
mengeprint beberapa set CV anda sekaligus, sehingga anda tak akan kerepotan
ketika tiba-tiba harus mengirim lamaran.

b. Huruf :

Usahakan mengetik CV anda dengan komputer, karena akan lebih terjamin
kerapihannya dibanding kalau anda menggunakan mesin tik manual.Untuk jenis
huruf yang pantas dalam pengetikan CV, gunakan pilihan huruf yang sederhana
tapi jelas terbaca, misalnya : Arial atau Times New Roman. Jangan memilih
huruf yang membuat efek ukiran, karena akan memusingkan orang yang membacanya
dan mengesankan anda seorang amatiran. Gunakan tinta hitam.

2. Isi CV

Untuk 'menjual' diri anda pada perusahaan yang anda lamar, sebaiknya kemukakan
hal-hal yang pantas diketahui. Adalah hal yang mutlak untuk menampakkan
kejujuran dalam CV anda, tetapi bukan berarti anda mengobral diri anda dengan
menuliskan hal-hal yang tidak perlu, misalnya tinggi dan berat badan, kondisi
kesehatan atau jumlah anak.

a. Data diri :

Pada bagian ini jelaskanlah hal-hal yang secara prinsip harus diketahui
perusahaan tempat anda melamar, yaitu: nama lengkap, tempat/tanggal lahir,
alamat dan nomor telephone.

b. Pendidikan:

Pada bagian ini yang perlu disebutkan adalah sertifikat yang berkaitan dengan
pendidikan formal anda, nama lembaga pendidikan tempat anda pernah menimba
ilmu, bidang studi, prestasi, penghargaan atau kursus yang signifikan dengan
pendidikan anda. Kalau anda pernah mendapatkan beasiswa, penghargaan sebagai
pemenang lomba karya tulis atau pernah kursus bahasa asing atau komputer, maka
tuliskanlah dengan singkat dan jelas.

c. Pengalaman Kerja :

Sebutkan dengan singkat dan jelas di perusahaan mana saja anda pernah bekerja.
Jika anda pernah bekerja kurang dari enam bulan di suatu perusahaan, sebaiknya
jangan ditulis kecuali ada hal khusus yang anda yakini baik untuk perkembangan
karir anda.Tuliskan dengan singkat apakah anda pernah mempunyai prestasi di
tempat kerja anda yang lama. Hindari untuk menyebutkan nama bos anda yang lama
atau nomor telephone perusahaan anda yang lama.

d. Aktivitas dan keterampilan khusus:

Point ini sifatnya tidak harus. Jika anda memang mempunyai kegiatan atau
keterampilan yang memang mendukung, tuliskanlah. Misalnya: mengikuti

PERUBAHAN PARADIGMA DALAM PENGEMBANGAN KARIER


Karier merupakan sesuatu yang amat penting dalam kehidupan pribadi maupun
sosial seseorang. Dalam konsultasi karier di Kompas banyak pertanyaan berkisar
pada pengembangan karier, baik dari kalangan non manajer maupun manajer.

Misalnya: Saya sekarang sudah bekerja di suatu jabatan selama 5 tahun. Kapan
waktu yang tepat untuk pindah jabatan atau naik jabatan? Bagaimana
meningkatkan karier dalam situasi bisnis yang tidak menentu? "Organisasi
tempat saya bekerja tidak memungkinkan saya untuk naik pangkat, apakah yang

Tulisan ini membahas mengenai perubahan yang terjadi dalam pola karier

Pengembangan karier tradisional

Dalam pandangan tradisional, pengembangan karier merupakan tanggung jawab
suatu organisasi yang menyiapkan karyawan dengan kualifikasi dan pengalaman
tertentu, agar pada waktu dibutuhkan organisasi sudah memiliki karyawan dengan
kualifikasi tertentu. Sifatnya paternalistik, dari atas kebawah dan
tersentralisasi.

Jadi yang dilakukan karyawan adalah bekerja sebaik mungkin, mengikuti semua
pelatihan yang diberikan, menunggu kesempatan kenaikan jabatan dan biasanya
menurut saja menduduki jabatan yang ditawarkan oleh perusahaan.

Pengembangan karier tradisional pada umumnya berupa kenaikan karier secara
vertikal dari satu jenjang pekerjaan tertentu ke jenjang berikutnya. Jadi
seseorang diharapkan mendalami suatu bidang pekerjaan tertentu kemudian
menduduki jabatan manajerial.

Pengembangan karier yang sifatnya vertikal dimungkinkan karena bentuk
organisasi yang sifatnya hirarkis/birokratis. Pengembangan karier tradisional
kurang memberikan kesempatan kepada seseorang yang memiliki kompetensi
teknikal yang tinggi namun tidak memiliki kemampuan manajerial., karena tidak
tersedia jalur spesialis.

Namun beberapa perusahaan besar yang mempunyai sistem pelatihan dan
pengembangan yang terintegrasi memberikan kesempatan kepada para karyawannya
untuk pindah jalur profesi atau memberikan kesempatan kepada karyawannya
menjadi generalis.

Tantangan Lingkungan Bisnis

Tantangan eksternal seperti globalisasi, persaingan, kemajuan teknologi,
tuntutan pelanggan, mendorong suatu organisasi untuk berubah. Situasi ekonomi
serta persaingan yang tajam mendorong organisasi melakukan restrukturisasi,
perampingan organisasi, desentralisasi, merger, pemanfaatan IT dsb.

Struktur organisasi yang bersifat hirarkis dianggap terlalu lamban untuk
memberikan nilai tambah kepada pelanggan. Organisasi dalam situasi yang sangat
dinamis harus mampu bergerak secara cepat dan luwes.

Struktur organisasi yang lebih datar/ horisontal dianggap lebih tepat untuk
keadaan sekarang karena jarak antara konsumen dengan pengambil keputusan lebih
dekat.

Bahkan struktur organisasi yang bersifat network dimana suatu organisasi hanya
memiliki pusat yang kecil dan fungsi fungsi organisasi dilaksanakan secara
outsourcing., dianggap sebagai struktur yang cocok untuk situasi ini.
Tantangan lingkungan bisnis ini membuat rasa aman karyawan menjadi hilang.

Tempat seseorang dalam suatu organisasi tiba-tiba bisa hilang. Hal ini dapat
menimbulkan masalah besar dalam kehidupan seseorang.

Seseorang tidak dapat lagi menggantungkan hidupnya pada organisasi. Tanggung
jawab
pengembangan karier seseorang didorong menjadi tanggung jawab individu.

Seseorang harus mencari nilai tambah bagi dirinya sendiri sehingga lebih luwes
dalam mencari pekerjaan termasuk menciptakan pekerjaan bagi dirinya sendiri
(entrepreneurship). Job security yang hilang harus digantikan menjadi career
security.

Paradigma Baru Pengembangan Karier

Sejalan dengan perubahan struktur organisasi maka pengembangan karier yang
bersifat tradisional dianggap tidak cukup luwes untuk memunuhi kebutuhan
organisasi dan karyawan pada saat ini.

Tantangan dunia bisnis menuntut pola kerja yang sifatnya lintas fungsi dan tim
kerja. Seseorang yang bekerja di bidang pemasaran harus memiliki pengetahuan
keuangan, sumber daya manusia, produksi atau operasi. Seseorang dapat pula

bidang manajerial.
